Founding Partner

Sharmila R. Parkman, Esq.

Attorney Sharmila R. Parkman provides aggressive representation for legal issues concerning construction disputes, businesses matters, civil litigation, real estate agreements, estate planning, and labor and employment claims. For over 15 years, she has provided comprehensive legal service to people across Southern and Northern California. She has helped hundreds of clients get positive outcomes for their litigation cases over her long career.

For more than 10 years, Ms. Parkman worked for AV-rated law firms in the San Diego area. This experience trained her to be an aggressive litigator and allowed her to build professional relationships with the local courts and judges. In real estate cases, she has represented multi-million dollar disputes involving public and private construction. Ms. Parkman stays up-to-date with the latest changes in the law, and she has authored a published article that has been cited by several leading professional and legal scholars.

She started her San Diego firm to give honest and aggressive legal representation with integrity. She represents her clients' best interests through every stage of their case, including negotiations, mediation, and during trial. Her empathetic yet aggressive approach to the law means that she stands up for her clients' rights and does not back down from difficult cases. Every client works directly with Ms. Parkman on their case and she is always available to her clients to answer questions and discuss their legal matter.

In a free consultation, she reviews the legal issue at hand and gives clients an honest idea of what they can expect. Ms. Parkman creates forceful legal strategies that get results without always resorting to the complexities of the courtroom. If a case does proceed to trial for resolution, her strategy always considers the time and budget concerns of clients. She puts her clients' interests ahead of her own and provides proven, aggressive legal services, but at an affordable rate and always with the goal of an expeditious resolution.

Ms. Parkman is a native Californian and a graduate of California Western School of Law, ranking in the top 25% of her class and achieving numerous academic achievement awards and scholarships. She completed her undergraduate degree at San Diego State University by earning a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and was recognized on the Dean's Honor List. Ms. Parkman is admitted to practice in the California Supreme Court and all Federal District Courts throughout California. She has been recognized and awarded for her legal work and successes, which includes being recognized as one of the Top 10 Best Attorneys for Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Legal Counsel; the Who's Who Directory as a Top Attorney in North America for 2017, 2018, and 2019; and the San Diego Daily Transcript in 2009 as a Top 25 Young Attorney in San Diego County. Additionally, Ms. Parkman is certified as Lead Counsel in the areas of Civil Litigation and Business Law.

When not practicing law, Ms. Parkman enjoys the culinary arts, traveling, and America's favorite pastime and even devotes many hours of her free time serving on the board of directors for her local little league.

Associate Attorney

Zachary I. Avina, Esq.

Attorney Zachary I. Avina is originally from a small, farming town in Northern California, but has been a happy San Diego transplant since 2015.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Philadelphia University in 2015, with concentrations in Management and Psychology. Mr. Avina graduated from California Western School of Law in 2018, where he focused his studies on business law, public interest law, and labor and employment law. Concurrently with his work for the firm, Mr. Avina is working towards his graduate degree in Business Administration.

During his law school career, Mr. Avina interned for several, local law firms, including the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, New Media Rights, and Wilkinson Mazzeo, PC. In these positions, he culminated his passion and skill regarding the advocacy of individuals and small businesses. Mr. Avina was also on the Dean’s Honor List for Academic Achievement during law school, and he was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society. In his last year of law school, Mr. Avina was honored to receive the James P. O’Neil Scholarship, which is awarded to a student with sufficient academic merit who demonstrates an interest in and proficiency for pro bono work and entrepreneurship.

Since law school, and while working for the firm, Mr. Avina took and passed the California Bar Examination on his first attempt. He is soon to be barred in several other states as well.

When not assisting the firm’s clients, Mr. Avina serves as the Chairman and Executive Director of a nonprofit organization that he founded in 2017, which is aimed at promoting second chance employment opportunities to formerly incarcerated individuals - while also providing support for the businesses that hire them - in an effort to bridge the gap. In addition, Mr. Avina has assisted in the formation of several nonprofit organizations, corporations, and limited liability companies in California and New York. He further utilizes these myriad skills by consulting small businesses and entrepreneurs across the country with a variety of business issues. In his spare time, Mr. Avina also loves traveling, spending time with his family, and reading novels.

Legal Assistant

Rubina Takhmazian

Rubina Takhmazian is a fourth-year student at the University of California, San Diego where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science with a Specialization in Neuroscience.

She has spent the past years working at LA Currency, INC. where she gained first-hand experience ensuring business regulations are in accordance with federal regulations within the international trading business. Rubina Takhmazian is affiliated with several organizations at U.C.S.D.; such as, Medics in Armenia where a group of students travel to Armenia, a third world country, enhancing the quality of life for every patient by conducting charity projects along with receiving inspiration, advice and encouragement from medical professionals on ways to improve the healthcare industry. She is also President of Alpha Gamma Alpha, an Armenian sorority, which aims to help impoverished communities by helping renovate schools for children with mental disabilities, along with other projects. It is in her best interest to successfully achieve the ability to govern ethical and professional conduct within the medical field.

In her spare time, Ms. Takhmazian loves to drive home to Los Angeles where she seeks new adventures with her friends and family.

Legal Assistant

Kennedy Fernandez

Kennedy Fernandez is a fourth-year student at the University of California, San Diego, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies – International Business, with a minor in History.

She spent the last two and a half years working for a Personal Injury attorney in Tucson, Arizona as a legal assistant. This experience was instrumental in helping her gain first-hand knowledge of the legal field and sparked her interest in the law. Ms. Fernandez has also held various leadership positions throughout her undergraduate studies, including Vice President of Programming and Education, as well as Vice President of Risk Management for her sorority. She was able to attend several leadership conferences through this sorority, where she learned how to successfully lead and manage a diverse group of women. Ms. Fernandez has a passion to lead and help others, and she is pursuing a degree in law to fulfill this passion.

When Ms. Fernandez has free time, she loves to travel around the world, as well as read a good Stephen King novel.
